More Midwest Cultural Activities - The Architectural of Frank Lloyd Wright   2008-05-15

Once in Chicago, we made 2 stops related to the architecture of Frank LLoyd Wright.

In the first 2 photos, this is the Johnson Wax Administration Building in Racine, Wisconsin, about 70 miles north of Chicago, opened in 1939.    Amazingly, it is still used by the company as part of their corporate headquarters complex.

Next was Oak Park, Illinois, just west of Chicago.   This was the location of Frank Lloyd Wright's first studio, where he also designed a number of other buildings in the surrounding neighborhood, all within walking distance.
