This was an activity from mid-October that I'm just catching up on now. In 1609, Henry Hudson and his Dutch ship, the Half Moon, was the first known European to sail up the Narrows, past what is now New York City and up the Hudson River. In 1989, the Hudson River Martime Museum built a full scale wooden replica of this ship (http://www.hrmm.org/halfmoon/1609moon.htm). Back in October, the ship was docked by the Yonkers pier for public visits.
Then onto Wave Hill, a public garden and estate in the northwest Bronx.
