Henry Mercer Museum - Doylestown, PA  2005-08-29

This past weekend I headed in the opposite direction from the nuclear accelerator, to Doylestown, PA, in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia.   The Mercer Museum and his house by themselves are interesting buildings in that they are constructed entirely out of concrete (including roofs).    Henry Mercer was an eccentric collector of kind of early American machine, gadget, artifact or tool.

Pictured below are such items as a broom comber, gear cutter, hearse, 'cigar store Indian', grinders, churners, and vampire killing kit.
